The smallest disruption can cause the loss of critical data services, and the smallest inefficiencies can multiply energy and operational costs. That is why managers in a new state-of-the-art data center in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schneider-electric.com\/en\/download\/document\/Zhiguli-Valley-Technopark\/\">Zhiguli Valley Technopark<\/a> located in Tolyatti, Russia, decided to work with LANIT-Integration, a certified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schneider-electric.com\/en\/partners\/ecoxpert\/\">EcoXpert partner of Schneider Electric<\/a> to deliver a cutting-edge smart building.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>In pursuit of a high-performing smart building<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThe client wanted a comprehensive solution that would integrate all the various automated systems in a major data center,\u201d<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-51996 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.schneider-electric.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Zhiguli-Valley.jpg\" alt=\"Zhiguli Valley Smart Building Data Center\" width=\"361\" height=\"241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.schneider-electric.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Zhiguli-Valley.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.schneider-electric.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Zhiguli-Valley-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.schneider-electric.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Zhiguli-Valley-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\" \/> said Sergey Suvorov, one of the lead account managers on the project for Schneider Electric. \u201cThey also wanted to take full advantage of today\u2019s technologies to achieve the greatest reliability and energy efficiency. Our partner, LANIT-Integration, made it happen.\u201d The team set out to design a reliable, high-performing smart building to support this state-of-the-art data center in a major Russian science park.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>One powerful command center<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Vyacheslav Gudkov, Chief Project Engineer for LANIT, is pleased to partner with Schneider Electric on critical projects, \u201cBeing an EcoXpert partner enables us to leverage the full scope of technology from Schneider Electric, but it also provides immediate support so that we can deliver what we promise to our customers. It\u2019s an invaluable benefit to us.\u201d Today, the data center is operational, with 324 IT racks running around the clock and more planned. Behind the scenes, the comprehensive smart building solution \u2013 designed, installed, and maintained by LANIT \u2013 is making the entire facility run seamlessly.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A comprehensive, state-of-the-art solution <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The IT center for Zhiguli Valley Technopark is impressive for both its integration and its comprehensive nature. The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.schneider-electric.com\/building-management\/2018\/06\/22\/smart-buildings-evolutions-the-ecoxpert-poe-and-iot-opportunity-and-roadmap\/\">smart building<\/a> incorporates the following systems and capabilities:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>EcoStruxure Building Operation*<\/strong> \u2013 building management software that controls air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, power supply, and lighting utilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>EcoStruxure Data Center Expert**<\/strong> \u2013 monitors the temperature and humidity in the equipment, server, and entrance rooms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>EcoStruxure Data Center Operation<\/strong> \u2013 catalogs and tracks all IT equipment, and helps control, plan and optimize resources of the data center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>EcoStruxure Power<\/strong> \u2013 manages a total power consumption of 3,565.0 kW, via 4 electrical distribution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>Pelco Video Surveillance System<\/strong> \u2013 captures video from 128 security cameras inside and outside the data center building, then streams to the monitors in the control room and security room.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>Andover Continuum Access Control and Security Alarm<\/strong> \u2013 controls access of people to the site and rooms in the technical support center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>ESMI Fire Detection System<\/strong> \u2013 gathers data from the smoke detectors and aspirating smoke detection system, and controls fire dampers in the ventilation system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>AST MNFS Air Conditioning System<\/strong> \u2013 controls 44 MNFC units connected to the ventilation system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>AST SmartShelter Module System<\/strong> \u2013 delivers complete protection from fire, water, thermal effects, and intrusion.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Building for the future<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Zhiguli Valley data center is new, but already reaping rewards for the owners. Each sub-system is integrated into a single solution and graphical user interface, providing unprecedented visibility and control. The project documentation has received certification for TIER III Uptime Institute (Tier Design &amp; Tier Facility). Best of all, these capabilities are achieved at a significant energy savings, estimated to be $54K USD (3 Million RUB) per year.<\/p>\n<p>Built on Schneider Electric\u2019s IoT-enabled EcoStruxure technology, the Zhiguli Valley IT Center is positioned to grow in the future. The current installation is only phase one of the project and more equipment is planned, with the potential to add hundreds of racks.
