We caught up with Rachel to find out what makes Schneider Electric a fabulous company\u00a0and how it is striving to attract the\u00a0best female talent<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in the industry.<\/p>\n

Above all, for Rachel, working at Schneider Electric is all about growth and change: both in the industry and of the people who are part of it.<\/p>\n

Rachel believes she is working in a very exciting space right now with Schneider Electric. Right at the forefront of the fourth technological revolution, where the industry is building on the historical industrial revolutions of mass production through electric power and automation through electronics and IT.<\/p>\n

“Now the fourth technological revolution builds on these but in a digital sense. The exponential speed of change, demand on global resources, digital disruption and opportunities through connectivity, make our industry a very exciting place to work right now. \u201cLife is On” everywhere!” says Rachel.<\/p>\n

In addition, Schneider Electric is constantly evolving through\u00a0acquisition and innovation. For Rachel\u00a0no two days, months or years are ever the same.<\/p>\n

A fulfilling career<\/h4>\n

Rachel has also grown as a person throughout her career with Schneider Electric. Thanks to working with great people from all over the world on some very varied, challenging and rewarding projects.<\/p>\n

“This constant change provides for endless opportunities for a diverse and fulfilling career. Many of my colleagues have worked for Schneider for many years. Some of them moving between roles, functions and countries along the way,” comments Rachel.<\/p>\n

“I am marking\u00a0my own 20-year anniversary and although I have always managed Tax & Treasury, my responsibility has grown from a turnover scope of \u00a3300m to nearly \u20ac2 billion across both the UK and Ireland. I love my job!”<\/p>\n

A positive company culture<\/h4>\n

Rachel explains how Schneider Electric\u2019s culture mirrors its\u00a0core values<\/a><\/strong>. Firstly, Schneider Electric\u00a0collaborates and strives to put the\u00a0customer first. The finance profession tends to attract women and, according to Rachel, Schneider Electric\u2019s finance function is no different. So how does Schneider Electric\u00a0support the progression of these women into senior roles across the company?<\/p>\n

Rachel says that\u00a0Schneider Electric has\u00a0a commitment to employee development<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and providing its employees with opportunities to advance in their careers and aim for the best. Rachel’s role as Tax and Treasury Director belongs to the Global Tax function with strong links to Global Treasury, while\u00a0also being embedded into the Local Finance team. All three functions have many examples of high performing women in senior roles.<\/p>\n

“We have a strong learning, mentoring and coaching culture. This has been a huge advantage for myself having had tuition support for my professional tax and treasury qualifications in my early career and recently having the opportunity to attend the Transforming Leadership Programme at INSEAD,” adds Rachel.<\/p>\n

“The opportunities for all of our employees is vast. Whether it is learning through formal education, through experience or through exposure. One of our core values is \u201cLearn Everyday\u201d. Finally, Rachel shares some valuable advice: to worry less, laugh more, trust your instincts, be yourself. Lastly, understand that\u00a0perfection isn\u2019t always necessary.<\/p>\n

“Delivering your true potential comes from enjoying your job, and that is helped by\u00a0finding the right culture<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and working environment for you,” explains Rachel.<\/p>\n
