{"id":14787,"date":"2019-03-07T11:00:33","date_gmt":"2019-03-07T19:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.palada.net\/index.php\/2019\/03\/07\/news-8536\/"},"modified":"2019-03-07T11:00:33","modified_gmt":"2019-03-07T19:00:33","slug":"news-8536","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.palada.net\/index.php\/2019\/03\/07\/news-8536\/","title":{"rendered":"Girl Power is Abundant at Schneider Electric"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Credit to Author: Kristen Larsen| Date: Thu, 07 Mar 2019 12:00:13 +0000<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Did you know some people credit the Spice Girls with reinvigorating mainstream feminism (\u201cgirl power!\u201d) in the 1990s?<sup>1<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>I can remember shouting the lyrics to \u201cWannabe\u201d on the playground with my best friends, wearing our platform sketchers as we slid down aluminum slides and posing for photos with peace signs and an utterance of \u201cgirl power!\u201d like our role model Ginger Spice.<\/p>\n<p>When I think back on those days, if there is one thing that the Spice Girls taught me, it was the importance of being a strong and independent female.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>An Exciting Time for Women<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This new year began with a record number of women being sworn into office in the U.S. House of Representatives. \u00a0The #MeToo movement went global in 2017, and an estimated 1.5 million+ people participated in 486 Women\u2019s Marches and Rallies this year. (Read about our CEO Annette\u2019s Claytons\u2019 advice about <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.schneider-electric.com\/life-at-schneider-electric\/2018\/06\/26\/why-women-should-reconsider-a-career-in-energy\/\">why women should reconsider a career in energy<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll be celebrating at our offices across the globe and hosting lunch and learns, speaker sessions, and activities.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Schneider Electric Is Taking Steps towards Gender Equality<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>At Schneider Electric, we chose to act as role models in setting the tone for global gender equality.\u00a0As a company, we\u2019re involved in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heforshe.org\/en\/node\/100\">HeForShe movement<\/a>, and just celebrated our second year as an IMPACT 10x10x10 corporate champion.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-55143\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.schneider-electric.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Comparably-best_women_2018.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"184\" \/> <\/p>\n<p>Factors like this have not gone unnoticed.\u00a0 Our employees are proud of these initiatives, and I was thrilled to see that Schneider Electric has been ranked as a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.comparably.com\/blog\/best-companies-for-women-2018\">Best Company for Women<\/a>\u201d among the top 50 large companies from Comparably, a compensation, culture and career monitoring website. The winners received the highest ratings by female employees who provided anonymous feedback on a variety of workplace culture questions.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Developing a culture that promotes the parity of women in the workforce should be the standard for all employers,Comparably&#8217;s Best Companies for Women celebrates businesses that are rated the highest by their own female employees.
