But many companies ask: &#8220;What\u2019s the first step toward convergence?&#8221; This post will cover why sustainability and energy data is the key to unlocking deeper efficiency and savings, how to get meaningful and actionable data, and what to do with it once it&#8217;s in hand.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #3dcd58\">The short answer to the question lies in the age-old &#8220;you can&#8217;t improve what you can&#8217;t measure&#8221; adage.\u00a0<\/span><br \/> <\/strong><br \/> AEM requires integrated decision-making, technology, expertise, processes and <span style=\"color: #3dcd58\"><strong>data<\/strong><\/span> to work together. To make an even more staggering statement, <span style=\"color: #42b4e6\"><a style=\"color: #42b4e6\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.schneider-electric.com\/?feed-stats-url=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3ctMDEuaWJtLmNvbS9zb2Z0d2FyZS9kYXRhL2JpZ2RhdGEvd2hhdC1pcy1iaWctZGF0YS5odG1s&#038;feed-stats-url-post-id=38585\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">90 percent of the data that exists today was created in the last two years<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>So is this potentially daunting challenge of aggregating and analyzing big, big data with the effort?<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #3dcd58\"><strong>Shared Data for Better Decisions<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Integrated data that&#8217;s accessible across departments and the enterprise benefits everyone. In the below diagrams, it\u2019s easy to see how sharing sustainability and energy data helps make better, more informed decisions within the company.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3dcd58\"><strong>1.<\/strong> <\/span>Here, Mr. Procurement shares his energy data with Ms. Sustainability and Mrs. Efficiency.
