As in months. Often, many months. Sometimes more than a year.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes never.<\/p>\n<p>(There is an exception: Google delivers new versions of Android to its Pixel line right away, and did just that with the release of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.computerworld.com\/article\/3295577\/android\/android-9-pie.html\">Android 9.0 (Pie)<\/a> last fall.)<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s now been six months since Pie arrived, which means it&#8217;s time for\u00a0<em>Computerworld<\/em> blogger JR Raphael&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.computerworld.com\/article\/3336930\/android\/android-upgrade-report-card-pie.html\">comprehensive look at how device-makers are doing<\/a>\u00a0when it comes to upgrades.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Raphael joined Computerworld Executive Editor Ken Mingis to go over the findings, as well as discuss how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.computerworld.com\/article\/3306443\/android\/what-is-project-treble-android-upgrade-fix-explained.html\">Google&#8217;s Project Treble is working<\/a>.
