This operation also led the Belgian Police (Police F\u00e9d\u00e9rale\/Federale Politie) and the Dutch Police (Politie) to nine arrests, 24 house searches, and the seizure of firearms, ammunition, jewelry, electronic devices, cash, and cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n<p>The group was involved in fraud, money laundering, phishing, and scams.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europol.europa.eu\/media-press\/newsroom\/news\/phishing-gang-behind-several-million-euros-worth-of-losses-busted-in-belgium-and-netherlands\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a Europol press release<\/a>, the group&#8217;s modus operandi started with an email, text message, or private message containing a link to a phishing page.<\/p>\n<p>Once recipients opened the link, they would be directed to a bogus bank website. Here, they were encouraged to enter their banking credentials.
