Last year, Trend Micro launched our popular Deep Security as a Service offering on the AWS Marketplace, combining industry-leading threat protection for cloud workloads, effortless deployment, and the added bonus of a unified Amazon Web Services (AWS) bill. This has been a successful model for customers wanting to purchase workload protection directly, however the reality is that most enterprises rely on trusted channel partners for software purchases. That’s why we’re delighted to be joining the new AWS Marketplace Channel Opportunity Registration Program; a pilot program designed to involve channel companies and software providers closer to AWS and drive growth opportunities on all sides.

Barry Russell, General Manager, WW Business Development, Amazon Web Services, Inc. spoke to this when he said, “We are pleased that Trend Micro is an integral part of the launch for the Channel Opportunity Registration Program. APN Consulting Partners are looking for tools that simplify the discovery, procurement, and deployment of software. By participating in the Channel Opportunity Registration Program with AWS Marketplace, Trend Micro gives the consulting companies they collaborate with an option for bringing Trend’s Deep Security solutions to their customers, which can be quickly and easily deployed in the AWS Cloud, without sacrificing its relationship with Trend Micro.”

With Trend Micro, participating channel companies will now receive financial incentives for managing or referring their customers to the AWS Marketplace.

Best in class

In the first half of 2017, more than 38 billion threats were blocked by the Trend Micro™ Smart Protection Network™, including 83 million total ransomware threats detected

Deep Security as a Service is designed to simplify managing security in the cloud. Optimized for AWS and hybrid architectures, it offers extensive protection (IDS/IPS, firewall, anti-malware, anti-ransomware, application control, integrity monitoring, log inspection) across the hybrid architectures; from a single interface, with pay-per-use pricing.

As such, it’s been protecting enterprises across the planet now for five years, helping to reduce the strain on overburdened IT departments with security tool consolidation. We made things even simpler for IT teams by making it available on the AWS Marketplace last year.

Now this latest announcement is designed to make it more convenient for the Channel to benefit from Deep Security as a Service on the AWS Marketplace.

A new opportunity

Virtually all procurement of Trend Micro solutions rely on the Channel, which is why this latest program was a no-brainer for immediate adoption. Trend Micro channel partners can now register opportunities for Deep Security customers they are managing or referring to the AWS Marketplace, through our deal registration portal.

AWS explains the two possible scenarios here:

“1) The AWS Reseller who is buying software on behalf of the end customer and manages the AWS account on their behalf, and 2) the channel partner as the referrer where the channel partner is advising the end customer to procure software related to the registered opportunity.”

Most importantly, this is a new opportunity helps keep enterprise customers protected from threats via an award-winning server security solution that has helped Trend Micro remain number one in the market for seven years in a row.
