On average, a refrigerator draws between 300 and 800 watts of electricity — depending on whether it’s actively cooling (in other words, whenever your fridge is “humming”). This range, of course, also depends on a variety of factors such as the age or efficiency rating of the unit, where you live, and even the amount of food you’re storing.
