Organizations are taking advantage of changes in computing technology to position themselves for a more agile future. Technology leaders and architects see value beyond the data center with new public cloud models and are keen on adopting hybrid infrastructure approaches to their compute environments.

In August VMware announced VMware Cloud on AWS. This gives businesses the ability to move some or all of their datacenter to the cloud.

It also allows deployment methods such as DevOps the upstream ability to implement and deliver applications quickly and efficiently within business units hungry to improve outcomes and help meet business goals.

With this shift comes new attack methods that are often secondary considerations to changing infrastructure needs.  This neglect in security leaves gaps that open the door to threats and serious data breaches, not to mention compliance with data privacy and industry regulations that require the need to demonstrate appropriate infrastructure security measures, regardless of the computing environment.

“VMware Cloud on AWS provides customers a seamlessly integrated hybrid cloud offering that gives them the SDDC experience from the leader in private cloud, running on the leading public cloud provider, AWS,” said Mark Lohmeyer, vice president, products, Cloud Platforms Business Unit, VMware. “Solutions such as Trend Micro’s Deep Security enable IT teams to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and create operational consistency across cloud environments. We’re excited to work with partners such as Trend Micro to enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS capabilities and empower customers with flexibility and choice in solutions that can drive business value.”

Layered security technologies like Trend Micro™ Deep Security™ look beyond perimeter defenses and provide multiple cross-generational and automated threat defense techniques that offer protection across physical, virtual and cloud workloads, as well as containers. Businesses are looking to reduce the number of security tools and managed interfaces throughout their organization especially when it comes to security. Deep Security delivers multiple capabilities managed through a single connected dashboard with full visibility into leading environments like VMware, AWS, Microsoft Azure and Docker and is key for a modern threat defense solution allowing skilled resources to focus on business goals.

Planning to attend re:Invent in Las Vegas the week of November 26th, join Trend Micro and VMware as they discuss VMware Cloud on AWS at Trend Micro’s booth #1812 Wednesday and Thursday at noon.
