This past February, thousands of healthcare IT professionals gathered in Orlando for the 2017 HIMSS conference to get an expansive view of the current healthcare landscape. Fortinet was also in attendance, presenting as well as walking the floors of the conference to connect with other vendors and discuss how their solutions can help clinicians and IT professionals keep their organization’s network secure.

During our time at HIMSS, we spoke with customers, prospects, and of course, Fortinet employees. In this video gallery we will hear from Fortinet’s Perry Correll, Director of Product Marketing Secure Access Solution, and Dereck Jacob, Major Account Manager FortiSIEM, as they discuss why Secure Access and FortiSIEM are necessary in today’s healthcare security stack.

The influx of the Internet of Things (IoT) has impacted today’s healthcare networks significantly. In the recent past, healthcare IT teams have had to struggle with the number of wireless devices owned by both staff and guests that needed to be connected to the network, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Now, a large number of new IoT devices, such as sensors, device trackers, inventory management tags, and wearable devices are being added to the fold, putting an even greater strain on the network.

Watch the below video to hear Perry Correll’s thoughts on these complications, what healthcare organizations must do to secure the network, and how Secure Access can assist.

Most of today’s healthcare organizations need to do a better job of understanding compromised hosts or anomalies on the network. They also need to ensure they’re ready to provide reports to auditors, as well as have the ability to continuously run those reports needed to pass HIPAA compliance.

Watch the video below to hear Dereck Jacob discuss how FortiSIEM can help organizations detect, prevent, and respond to security and data breaches.
